L'attaccante del Manchester City Georgia Stanway si è scusata per l'espulsione nel derby di Manchester finito 2-2 nella Women Super League sabato, ma ha rivelato di essere stata oggetto di "messaggi offensivi" sui social media in seguito all'incidente. Alla 22enne è stato mostrato un rosso dritto per una brutta sfida su Leah Galton al 35esimo minuto del primo tempo.
Mentre Galton controllava la palla con il piede sinistro e cercava di saltare Stanway, la nazionale inglese ha completamente sbagliato il momento della sua sfida e ha piantato i suoi tacchetti sulla coscia dell'attaccante dello United.
