Hearts, torna il derby di Edimburgo: ma la promozione non basta, i tifosi contestano

La tifoseria degli Hearts contesta duramente la squadra, nonostante la bella stagione disputata. I Maroons infatti hanno ottenuto la promozione con 3 giornate d’anticipo.

Una promozione al primo tentativo, dopo la discesa dello scorso anno nella B scozzese, ma mentre la società Hearts festeggia il prestigioso traguardo, ben diverso è il pensiero della propria tifoseria. 50 punti in 24 giornate, e una promozione conquistata con ben 3 giornate d’anticipo, ma non è bastato ad evitare una forte contestazione. I Maroons avevano subito una grave ingiustizia lo scorso anno, con una retrocessione arrivata in seguito alla chiusura anticipata dei campionati da parte della SPL, a causa della pandemia Covid.

La società però si è subito rimboccata le maniche, riportando vecchi manager e concludendo una bella annata. Allora perché la contestazione? Tutto sta nelle sconfitte di coppa, dove in realtà gli Hearts hanno vinto di misura il derby contro l’Hibernian, perdendo solamente ai rigori la finale col Celtic. Ma oltre all’eliminazione in League Cup per mano dell’Alloa Athletic, quello che ha fatto infuriare i tifosi è stata la sconfitta nell’attuale Scottish Cup per mano del Brora Rangers, squadra dilettantistica. Secondo i tifosi l’umiliazione peggiore in quasi 150 anni di storia. Intanto l’anno prossimo tornerà il derby di Edimburgo.
