La leggenda del Newcastle e capocannoniere della Premier League infligge una nuova delusione al Man United. Dopo averli snobbati in passato rincara la dose.

Il motivo è presto detto. Nel 1996 il giocatore passa al Newcastle, ma in realtà sarebbe dovuto andare allo United. Era tutto fatto per il trasferimento a Manchester, ma un disaccordo con Ferguson provocò la clamorosa inversione di marcia. Come se non bastasse, ora Shearer rincara la dose: “E’ stata la decisione migliore che abbia mai preso, so che avrei vinto più trofei allo United, ma i dieci anni che ho trascorso lì sono speciali. Era ciò che volevo, e anche di più”.
