Gary Neville ha inviato un messaggio al suo ex compagno di squadra del Manchester United Wayne Rooney in vista della partita della Carabao Cup fra il Derby County e il Salford City.

I Rams hanno ricevuto un sorteggio particolare al primo turno di coppa di Lega inglese contro il Salford, il club di cui sono comproprietari Gary Neville e altri ex compagni del Manchester United come David Beckham, Nicky Butt, Ryan Giggs, Phil Neville e Paul Scholes.

Neville è stato compagno di squadra del manager del Derby Rooney per sette stagioni all'Old Trafford. Dopo aver appreso del sorteggio, Neville ha twittato: "Dai @WayneRooney !!!!! Ti aspettiamo.". La partita si giocherà nella settimana che inizia il 9 agosto. Il Salford è gestito da Gary Bowyer, che faceva parte dello staff tecnico delle giovanili del Derby County.
